Megastar Chiranjeevi is demanding that Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of the country, be conferred posthumously on its founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nnandamuri Taraka Rama Rao – NTR. Today on the occasion of birth anniversary of NTR, Chiru took to his Twitter and requested the central government to confer Bharat Ratna to NTR.
In Telugu, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy fame actor said, “Pride of the Telugu people and well renowned leader NTR well and truly deserves Bharat Ratna. If the prestigious award is conferred upon him, it would be a proud honor for Telugu community. I am fondly remembering the great personality Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on the occasion of his 98th birth anniversary.”
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is Popularly known as NTR, he had formed the TDP in 1982 and created a record of sorts by leading the TDP party to power within nine months in the then undivided Andhra Pradesh. NTR was one who launched popular welfare programmes like Rs 2 kg rice and housing for the poor people.
On the work front, Chiranjeevi will be seen playing the lead role in Acharya, which is being helmed by Koratala Siva. The sources close to the makers of Acharya revealed that majority of the shoot has been wrapped up and only a 10 day shoot is left.
